What is the Tolkien Birthday Toast?

Each year on 3 January, the Tolkien Society encourages Tolkien fans from across the world to celebrate the Professor’s birthday with a simple toast-drinking ceremony.

At 9pm your local time, simply raise a glass and toast the birthday of this much loved author. The toast is simply:

The Professor!

All you need to do is stand, raise a glass of your choice of drink (not necessarily alcoholic), and say the words “The Professor” before taking a sip (or swig, if that’s more appropriate for your drink). Sit and enjoy the rest of your drink.

Note that we do not condone drinking alcohol if it endangers the health or safety of the drinker or others, or contravenes the law.

Yule LotR Marathon & Anniversary

As usual I'm having my yearly LotR trilogy Yule Fest watch.... The last two years have been extra special watching the trilogy. This year I'm also talking to a special U.K. friend while enjoying the films and day.... making an even better holiday for me.💖

3 Years Ago Today

3 years ago today I started my new Last.FM account. I created it when they changed their website - ditched my old profile there in favor of this new one.

My top 8 artists after 3 years of listening. Celebrating my 3rd anniversary with this account today by listening to Elvis - he's currently 9th on my list!

UPDATE 11/10/2018: I knew Elvis would be back in my top 8 all time listened to artists today (he dropped to #9 a few weeks ago after listening to some of the others again...) he fights for with The Doors, Frank Sinatra, and the others on this list for the top spot -- depends on my musical moods... haha
